Itinerary Nature Trail Travels & Tours, Trekking & Expeditions

DAY 01: Arrive Paro by Druk Air Flight
During this flight, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchan Junga and other Himalayan Peaks including sacred Chomolhari and Mt. Jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by a representative of Kinga Tours & Trek Ltd. then drive tko Olathang Hotel through Paro valley is enchanting. After lunch you eill be taken to Ta-Dzong (Museum. Overnight at Olathang Hotel.

DAY 02:   Paro – Sightseeing
Drive winding road northwest up the Pa Chu toDrukgyel Dzong, the ruined Fort, which once defended this valley from the Tibetan invasion. This fortress, now a burned shell, was once strategic in Bhutan's defense against the Tibetan invasion. Mt. Chomolhari, the sacred summit, reaches skyward beyond the Dzong. This can be viewsd kon a clear day. After lunch walk up the hill just above Olathang Hotel to stretch your legs for the excursion to Taktsang Monastery view point.

DAY 03:  Paro – Thimphu
This morning follow the winding road beside the Pa Chu (Chu means river or water ) down stream to its confluence with the Wangchu then up-valley to Thimphu, the capital. Afternoon lunch at the Hotel. After lunch visit the Memorial Chorten, here the faithful circumambulate the shrine dedicated to the Late King telling their prayer beads as they walk. Overnight in Hotel.

DAY 04:   Thimphu – Tongsa
The journey to Central Bhutanbegins today. The drive to Tongsa takes approximately 7 to 8 hours. Packed lunch will be provided at the Hotel. Lunch stop at Chendeje Chirten. Overnight at Tongsa Tourist Lodga.

DAY 05:  Tongsa – Jakar (Bumthang)
Drive to Jakar takes approximately 21/2hours. Tales of great teacher Guru Padmasambhava dominates this holy valley. From the view point you can see Jakar Dzong "The castle of White Bird." Lunch at Tourist Lodge. Afternoon hike upto Lame Gompa, a place built by 1st King for his two nun sisters. Putside of Lame Gompja, one can see the old style of Bhutanese paper making. Overnight in Bumthang Tourist Lodge.

DAY 06 :  Bumthang – Gorsum
Distance 18Kms about 6-7 hours. Alt. 3120m. After breakfast the Transport will reach you up to the trek point just below Kurje Lhakhang, the holy temple that Bumthang is famous for. The trek route takes you along with the Chamkhar chu, a river known for its richness in trout. The trek train for Bumthang to
Gorsum is rather gradual. Overnight in camp.

DAY 07 :  Gorsum Lungsum
Distance 12Kms about 5 hours.Alt. 3160m. Today you will be walking through dense forest of Spruce, Hemlock, Cypress, Juniper and Maples. The trail is more or less muddy and ascends gradually till you reach to your camp site. Overnight in camp.

DAY  08:   Lungsum
Distance 15Kms about 6-7 hours Alt. 3100m. /the vegetation from is all the way up hill till you reach the pass called Julila which is about 4700m. The vegetation from Lungsum to Tsochenchen is more or less same till you reach near to your camp site. The camp will be above tree line. Overnight in camp.

DAY 09:   Tsochenchen – Dur Tsachu
Distance – 17Kms about 7 hours. Alt. 3400m. The trek from Tsochenchen is all the way up hill you reach the pass called Julila which is about 3400m. From here if the weather is clear surrounding mountains can be viewed. After crossing the pass the trek trail descend till you reach the camp site. Must deer, herds of blue sheep and Himalayan bear may be seen enroute. Overnight in camp.

DAY 10:   Dur Tsachu – Halt
After a late breakfast relax in the hot spring or hike in and around the camp. Overnight in camp.

DAY 11:   Dur Tsachu – Tsochenchen
Distance 17Kms about 9 hrs. Alt. 3100m. The trek trail from Dur Tsachu is all the way up hill till you reach Julila. After crossing the pass the trek trail descends till you reach the campsite. Overnight in camp.

DAY 12:  Tsochenchen – Gorsum
Distance – 17Kms about 9hrs. Alt. 3120m. Today is the start little earlier as the trek is quite long. The trek trail is all the way gradual down for about 2 hours till you reach campsite. Overnight in camp.

DAY 13:   Gorsum – Bumthang
From Gorsum descends down hill till you across a bridge of Dur village. Then follow the new motor road till you meet transport. Drive to Bumthang Tourist Lodge. After lunch at Leisure.

DAY 14:  Bumthang – Wangdi
Drive to Wangdi takes about 7 hrs. Picnic lunch will be provided at the lodga. Lunch stop on the way. Overnight in Wangdi Guest House/Camp.

DAY 15:  Wangdi – Thimphu
Drive to Punakha Dzong. Visit Punakha Dzong when the monks are in Thimphu. Punakha Dzong was the nation's capital until 1966. The remains of Shabdrung, the saint who unified Bhutan in the 17th century are interred here. The Je-Khenpo, the abbot of the religion of the country resides herewith the monk body from Thimphu during winter because if is warmer at this lower altitude. The drive back to Thimphu over Dochula pass. Overnight in Hotel.

DAY  16:   Thimphu – Sightseeing
A full day of sightseeing and shopping in Thimphu. Wander in the town, visit the handicraft emporium. Visit the workshop where all the handicrafts are procuced of you like. Afternoon visit Tashichho-Dzong. Overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 17:  Thimphu – Paro Airport
Drive to International  Airport at Paro for onward flight.

SEASON:  MARCH, APRIL, SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, NOVEMBER.
