Spectacular Rajasthan Tour - 14 Days

 

Itinerary

Day 1,             Arrive  Delhi.
Arrive New Delhi around mid night and transfer with assistance to the hotel

Day 2,             Delhi –  Mandawa drive ( 260 kms / 6hrs.)
Morning after breakfast  visit  India Gate, Parliament Street & Humayuns tomb.  Later drive about 6hrs. to Mandawa. in the Shekhavati region.O/n hotel.

Day 3,  Mandawa / Bikaner ( 200 kms / 3 hours drive).
After breakfast,  visit the fort and museum.  Later  drive to Bikaner in the Shekhavati region, known for the beautiful frescoes which adorn many of the buildings. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 4,  Bikaner/ Jaisalmer. (7 hours drive).
Morning sightseeing of imposing 16th century pink - sandstone Junagarh fort.   Later leave for a longish drive to Jaisalmer, the most perfect of the walled cities of Rajasthan, rising out of the desert like a mirage. Overnight in hotel.

Day 5,  Jaisalmer.
Sightseeing in Jaisalmer, a medieval city of elaborately carved mansions (havelis) in yellow sandstone, built by rich merchants at a time when the city was a key stopping place on the caravan routes from the Middle East. Jaisalmer has been described as an open air museum, and to enter its narrow cobbled lanes is to step into a bygone age.
After  CAMEL  safari to Sam Sand dunes.   Overnight in Hotel

Day 6, Jaisalmer/ Jodhpur (8 hours).
Today we drive south to the historic Jodhpur, second city of Rajasthan. Overnight in Hotel

Day 7, Jodhpur.
After breakfast we enjoy a sightseeing tour of the colourful streets and bazaars of Jodhpur, including a visit to the vast 15th century hilltop Meherangarh Fort. Afternoon we enjoy a glimpse of traditional Rajasthani village life. O/n hotel.

Day 8,   Jodhpur - Ranakpur  - Udaipur (280 kms / abt 7hrs.)
After breakfast drive to  Udaipur.  Enroute visit  Ranakpur,  visit one of the biggest and most important Jain temples (Chaumukha Temple) in India.   Later  drive through Aravali hills, and temples to the Romantic Lake city of Udaipur. O/n hotel.

Day  9,              Udaipur.
After breakfast  visit to City Palace, Garden of Maids of Honour, Boat ride on Lake Pichola to see Jagniwas Island. O/n hotel.

Day 10,    UdaipurAjmer drive (245 kms / 7hrs.)
Morning after breakfast  drive to Ajmer.   O/n hotel.

Day 11,    Ajmer  -  Jaipur (150 kms / 3hrs.)
Morning visit Ajmer.    Later drive to Jaipur.  O/n hotel.

Day 12,     Jaipur.
This morning we drive to nearby Amber, ascending by elephant to see the 16th century hilltop fortress - Palace and its richly decorated apartments. Later we tour Jaipur, a city of glowing pink sandstone buildings, visiting the famous Hawa Mahal (Palace of winds), the City Palace complex, and the Jantar Mantar Observatory. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 13,    Jaipur –Agra drive (55 kms / 2hrs.)
Morning after breakfast drive to Agra.  Enroute visit  the abandoned sandstone Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri.  Later drive to Agra. visit India's most celebrated monument the Taj Mahal, built by Shah Jehan as a mausoleum for his wife Mumtaz, you can have Sun Set view.     O/n hotel.

Please note :  Taj is closed on  Fridays

Day 14,   AgraDelhi drive (220 kms / 5hrs.)
Morning after breakfast explore Akbar the Great's Red Fort  and   Tomb of  Itimad-ud-Daulah.  Later  drive back to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer to International airport for flight back to home country for your flight back, departing late mid night.
