Buddhist circuit Tour - 8days
The trip starts from the capital of Kathmandu where you will be visiting the Buddhist landmark, Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey temple), from the hilltop overlooking the whole valley. On the second day of tour you will be driving to Dhulikhel which is a small quiet town, known for its traditional crafts, lies 30 km east of Kathmandu from where we will take you for a hike to the famous Namobudha. Also, we visit the ancient city of Patan and Bhaktapur to see architectural masterpieces of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments on the third day. This tour also includes a trip to Lumbini, which is the birth place of Buddha and situated in the Terai plains of southern Nepal. We will be visiting the nativity site marked by a stone pillar erected by Indian Emperor Ashoka and in the last day of the Tours in Kathmandu you will be visiting Kopan monastery, Boundhanth stupa and Himalayan Buddhist Meditation centre to attend the one day workshop.
Outline Itinerary
DAY 01: ARRIVAL KATHMANDU
Arrive in Tribhuvan International Airport / Kathmandu. We will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel. After tour briefing if time permits then we will take you to visit the Monkey temple.
DAY 02: DAY HIKE TO NAMOBUDHA
After breakfast, we will drive you to Dhulikhel - A small quiet town, known for its traditional crafts, lies 30 km east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 1470 m. If so wished you may climb a little to see the mountains, from Cho Oyu in the east to Himalchuli in the west following which we will take you for a hike to the famous Namobudha.
DAY 03: KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING TOUR
After breakfast, we start for a full day sightseeing tour. The places of today’s visit will be Patan and the villages in the vicinity & Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Lunch can be taken out in the restaurant.
DAY 04: FLY: KATHMANDU / BHAIRAHAWA AND DRIVE TO LUMBINI
Afternoon, we fly to Bhairahawa. It is a 45 minutes flight from Kathmandu. We will be received at the airport and transferred to the hotel. Evening, we will take you for a short sightseeing tour around the birth place of Lord Buddha. Overnight hotel
DAY 05: FLY: LUMBINI / KATHMANDU
After breakfast we head out for sightseeing tour. Afternoon, we drive to Bhairava approx. 14 km from Lumbini to catch our flight to Kathmandu. We will reach Kathmandu in the evening. Over night in hotel in Kathmandu.
DAY 06: VISIT KOPAN MONASTERY
After breakfast, we will take you to the Kopan Monastery for a visit followed by a tour of the Boudhanath stupa on the way back.
DAY 07: AT THE HIMALAYAN BUDHIST MEDITATION CENTRE
Today we will take you to the Himalayan Buddhist Meditation centre to attend the one day workshop – ‘Discovering Buddhism’ in which various introductory and advanced Buddhist teachings with meditation and discussions led by monks, nuns and scholars from both Tibetan Buddhist and various Buddhist traditions are conducted. Topics and teachers for the workshop will be notified only few days prior to the workshop.
Evening, we will take you to enjoy the Nepali meal with culture program.
DAY 08: FINAL DEPARTURE - Breakfast
Morning will be left free for shopping & other independent activities. Depending on your flight time, we will drive you to the International airport for your onward flight.
