Ama Dablam Expedition is an attractive mountain that is located almost due south of Mt Everest and Mt Lhotse in the Khumbu region. The mount rises high above the Dudh Koshi river valley and wins every trekkers’ heart when trekking along the main trekking trail towards Everest Base Camp. The climb of Amadablam is made over a steep pyramid of ice with vertical walls, sharp and exposed ridges. It is a thrilling climb over rock and mixed snow. The final climb to the summit of Mount Amadablam includes hard ice climbing over a steep snow slope to reach the summit of Amadablam. Though the climb is a bit tedious and tiresome, we are rewarded with stunning views of the towering mountains of the world and hidden beauty of Gokyo Valley.

Amadablam Expedition with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to Khumbu and entire Everest region of Nepal. After landing at Lukla we gather our gears and begin our trek. Our trek is over a gradual ascending trail that goes along dense rhododendron forests to reach Namche Bazaar – The Sherpa Capital. Acclimatization is very crucial in higher altitudes, so after spending a full day rest at Namche Bazaar we continue our trek through Deboche and Pheriche to reach Amadablam Base Camp. At the base camp we will spend additional day for acclimatization and for pre climbing training.

Fully equipped with all the climbing gears we will follow the instructions and directions given by our experienced Sherpa climbing expert as we head for the summit climb of Mount Amadablam. After several days of challenging and tiring climb we head towards the summit of Mt. Amadablam. Once at the top we are rewarded with magnificent views of world’s towering chains of high mountains. Having achieved the summit of the majestic Mount Amadablam for a life time experience, we retrace our steps back to reach the base camp. From the base camp our return journey passes through Tyangboche, Namche Bazaar and back to Lukla. Our adventurous climb of Mt Amadablam Expedition and Island Peak Climbing with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition ends with a sweeping flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu.

Two consecutive nights will be spent at Namche to acclimatize with the high altitude.
5

Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

Spend the day at Namche Bazar and around for acclimatization and excursion.
It is an ideal place to spend a rest day for acclimatization to the high altitude before heading off towards Tengboche and Pangboche. For the acclimatization you walk up to Khunde Hospital which was set-up by Sir Edmund Hillary, or a one hour walk steep up to Syangboche (3,800m.) where Everest View Hotel is situated and offers outstanding view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. Pangboche village (4,000m/13,120ft) will be the best choice for Lunch, before continue walk to the Pheriche. Well, it is possible that you might feel a bit of altitude. You are already in the high altitude over 4000 m. where you can feel difficulties of breathing, feel headache or minor symptoms AMS which might disappear after good night rest and food, and certainly, you will feel better and strong again.
8

Acclimatisation Day in Pheriche

10-25

Ascending and Descending of Ama Dablam Top 6, 812m / 22488ft

Based on our previous expedition experience, expedition leader with other crew members make the planning and other necessary groundwork for the ascent. A few days may be spent on the Base Camp for organizing food, acclimatization, and practicing rope and other mountain climbing skills.

A typical strategy would look like what follows:

After getting established the Base Camp, move further up to Camp 1 at 5,700m (17,400 feet) along the standard route. Generally, one night is spent at camp 1 for acclimatization and then returning to the Base Camp for the final preparation to scale the summit. There are three camps above the base camp before reaching the summit. The ascent from Base Camp to camp 1 is technically challenging. From Camp 1, follow existing fixed lines. Establish new ropes wherever necessary both for ascent and descent. The climb from Camp 2 to Camp 3 is mostly ice and mixed-climbing. The climb from Camp 3 to the summit is relatively less technical.

26

scale the peak before getting back to the Base Camp.

Concluding day of Ama Dablam Expedition. We transfer you to airport for your journey ahead to your sweet home or other destination.

Mountain got (Titar), on the way! This trip requires a high level of fitness and a few additional items that the normal trekking kit will not contain. Any trip to altitude can be potentially dangerous so every medical and technical precaution is taken to ensure your safety and success. Comprehensive medical equipment, such as oxygen, Gammov bag and specialised drugs will be on hand. Ropes and other technical safety equipment are also provided: we do not skimp on kit. Safety of the entire group (including kitchen and climbing staff and porters) comes first.

Mount Everest, Ama Dablam 6812mTengboche Monastery, on the way to Amadablam Due to the technical nature of the route, ropes will be fixed for most of the climb above camp one. Although we can brush-up your skills at base camp, a good working knowledge of abseiling and use of mechanical ascenders (jumars) is mandatory: prior experience is required. This might involve a couple of weekend sessions at your local cliff or bridge combined with some other general mountain knowledge. Objective danger on the SW Ridge route is minimal, ice cliffs do not threaten it, the snow slopes are generally stable (with minimal avalanche risk), the rock is of good quality and the mountain is below the reach of jet stream winds. The Summit Amadablam and get free Nature Trail’s T-Shirt!route is extremely exposed and mistakes with rope work can be unforgiving. We have a strong local climbing sherpa team to help us on the mountain. They greatly assist in your success by helping with load carrying and the fixing of ropes. The whole team will be involved in the fixing of rope and the smooth running of the expedition but their primary concerns are client safety, service and success. Our guide will be climbing with you at all times. Our guide will ensure your safety and make decisions regarding safety and weather, they also assist in carrying group gear between camps. You are then left to carry only your personal gear between camps.

At the top of the AmadablamA typical team would consist of four clients, two helper Sherpas, two climbing Sherpas, a camp one cook, base camp cook, one kitchen boy and a message runner. We run our trips on very low ratios. We use a lot of sherpa power and we have exceptional food in base camp and on the mountain. Our tents are all high quality expedition style tents and roomy enough to enable you to enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep. If you want the best chance of success – this is it! We provide the highest quality commercial operation available on Ama Dablam.
