The Valley Of Flowers is a fairy-land situated high in Himalayas of Uttarakhand, at an altitude of 3,600 meters above the sea level, protected by snowy mountains. Unknown to humans, for centuries this enchanting valley lay frozen during the colder months, and burst into its youthful beauty every year, as the snow melts with the advent of summer.
Every year, the valley is splashed with color as it bloomed with hundreds of kinds of flowers, taking on various shades of colors as month’s progresses. It was declared a national park in 1982, and now it is a World Heritage Site. The locals, of course, always knew of the existence of the valley, and believed that it was inhabited by fairies.

Delhi – Dehradun – Rishikesh
Arrive at IGI Airport New Delhi, Take a flight from IGI Airport to Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun Airport), Upon arrival at Dehradun Airport, Meet our representative thereafter drive to Rishikesh (30 minutes drive) Rishikesh also known as Yoga capital of the world lies in the Shivalik ranges of the Himalayas. Check in to your pre booked hotel. In the evening visit the Ganga river bank for the spectacular and moving Aarti- show of lights, sounds and chanting. Rishikesh is well known for its scenic beauty and the spiritual experience. Overnight in Rishikesh.
Rishikesh to Joshimath Drive (1875m) (260Km/8-9Hrs)
After breakfast checkout and drive towards Joshimath, During this 260 km journey from Rishikesh to Joshimath, you will get tired, but you will also enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains along with Alaknanda river all way. During this drive you will see we will be passing all the confluences of Alaknanda river right from Devprayag to Vishnuprayag. In your day you will drive through Devprayag-Srinagar-Rudrapryag-Joshimath. You will reach Joshimath by evening, check into a hotel and overnight at Joshimath.
Joshimath to Ghangaria, via Govindghat (1828m) Drive (22Km/45Min), Govind ghat to Pulna Drive (4Km/20Min), Trek to Ghangaria(3000m) from Pulna (1920m) (10Km/5-6Hrs)
Morning after early breakfast checkout and drive to Govindghat about 22Km from Joshimath. And then again drive 4Km more from Govindghat to Pulna. Start trekking towards Ghangaria with packed lunch. After completeing 10 Kms trek you will reach Ghangaria. Ghangaria is the base camp for Hemkund Sahib and the Valley of Flowers Trek. Ponies and Porters are available. Helicopter service available from Govind ghat to Ghangaria and fro. Dinner and overnight in hotel at Ghangaria.
Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers (3505m) (4Km/2-3Hrs) back to Ghangaria (4Km/2-3Hrs)
Wake up early in the morning so you can spend whole day at Valley Of Flowers. There is a gate to buy entry tickets to the valley which opens at 7AM and is valid for 3 days. Walk inside and notice the small flowering plants springing up on either side. The entire valley is generally a carpet of colours – green, yellow, red, blue. It is surrounded by mountains with trees at lower levels. Can refill water bottles from streams on the way, also carry packed lunch along, no food available in the valley, camping inside the valley is not allowed, can’t stay after sunset. Begin your return trek to Ghangaria. Dinner and overnight in hotel at Ghangaria.
Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib (4633m) (6Km/3-4Hrs) back to Ghangaria (6Km/3-4Hrs)
Early in the morning after breakfast start trekking 6Km to reach “HEMKUND SAHIB”. One of the most important of all Sikh Shrines, The Hemkund Sahib, has world’s highest gurudwara at an altitude of 4,633m, where Guru Gobind Singh is said to have meditated in a previous life. There is a lake Hemkund Sahib lake which remains frozen for six months. Gradual and steep mixed ascent on a stair welled stone-paved path. Mule ride service is also available till Hemkund Sahib, have hot lunch at Gurdwara langar. The Himalayan flower Brahma Kamal grows abundantly, Himalayan blue poppy can be seen on the way to Hemkund Sahib. Late afternoon trek back to Ghangaria. Dinner and overnight in hotel at Ghangaria.
Ghangaria to Joshimath via Govindghat & Badrinath (3300m)
Early morning after breakfast, begin our descend to Govindghat. The trek is the same that we took to come up, It will take 4-5Hrs to reach 10kms back to Govindghat. After lunch at Govindghat drive to Badrinath (50Kms/1-2Hrs) Guarded on either side by the two mountains Nar and Narayan, the Neelkanth Peak provides a glorious scene to Badrinath, one of the ‘Four Dhams’. According to Hindu legend, god Vishnu sat in meditation at this place. Latter drive back to Joshimath. After reaching back to Joshimath check in to a Hotel and overnight at Joshimath.
Joshimath to Dehradun Drive via Rishikesh (295Km/8-9Hrs)
The Valley of Flowers is a high-altitude Himalayan valley that has long been acknowledged by renowned mountaineers, botanists, and in literature. Which is nestled high in the West Himalayas. The Valley of Flowers has many different colorful flowers, taking on various shades of colors as time progressed. The park stretches over an expanse of 87.50 square kilometers. The valley was declared a national park in 1982 and now UNESCO designated the Valley of Flowers National Park a World Heritage Site along with Nanda Devi National Park. The place was little known to the outside world due to its inaccessibility. In 1931, Frank S. Smythe, Eric Shipton and R.L. Holdsworth, all British mountaineers, lost their way while returning from a successful expedition to Mt.Kamet and occurred to reach upon the valley, which was full of flowers. They were attracted to the beauty of the area and named it the “Valley of Flowers.” The park is administered by the Uttarakhand State Forestry Department, the national Ministry of Environment and Forests, India. The park is open only during summer from June to October and it is covered by heavy snow for the rest of the year. The Valley Of Flowers is home to a variety of endangered plants and medicinal plants, the region displays the best example of the West Himalaya biogeography zone. The majority of flowers include the Himalayan flower Brahmakamal, Cobra Lily, Orchids, Poppies, Primulas, Calendulas, Daisies, and Anemones as well as alpine forests of Birch and Rhododendron. The richly diverse area serves as home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic Black Bear, Snow Leopard, Brown Bear and Blue Sheep. That’s why Uttarakhand is known as SIMPLY HEAVEN!
