Ramdung Peak Climbing is located at the south of Na Village in the upper Rolwaling region and it is one of the bunch of peaks which is surrounded by Yalung La(Yalung Ri). Ramdung Peak is also called “Ramdung Go Peak” as well. It gives an access to the upper Rolwaling form the south via the Khare Khola. Ramdung Peak Climbing offers us splendid Himalayan view of the massif Gaurishanker, Dorje Lakpa, Chobabhamre, Dorje Lakpa, Chobabhamre, Tibetan Himalayan views.

Our trek will begin from Kathmandu towards the valleys of Rolwaling and Khumbu at the land of the Everest. We cross the Tashi Laptsa(5,755m) and trek to Everest region than we arrive at Thame Valley descend to Namche and our final day will be at Lukla. From Lukla, we will fly for Kathmandu along the splendid mountains, alpine forest of rhododendron and magnolia amongst the hidden Rolwaling Valley. Our adventurous trip will continue further East to scale the Ramdung Peak (5925m).

To summit this peak does not need any previous climbing experience but climbers should be physically good condition and stamina to walk along the difficult Himalayan route and high passes. Where, we will have an acclimatization day at Ramdung Base Camp. It will help to adopt the high altitude peak with the most practicable itinerary and professional team of the climbers to make ascend it successfully.

Day 02: Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley overnight at Hotel with Bed & Breakfast plan.

Arrive at Kathmandu - 1345m/4411ft, and transfer to Hotel.

Our airport arrival and departure representative will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport on your arrival schedule. You will then be transferred to the hotel and our staff will help you until check-in procedure ends at Hotel. Either you can have rest at Hotel or visit NGT’s office. In the evening, join our welcome dinner program organized by Nature Trail team

Sightseeing at Kathmandu

It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So you can choose at least 3-4 places for a day sightseeing.

Drive to Gongar Khola - 1350m/4428ft, via Jiri Charikot - 7-8 hrs drive

After breakfast, we will take a scenic drive from Kathmandu towards Gongor Khola which takes approximately about eight hours. During the drive journey we can have great views of surrounding natural wonders including the daily activities of local people for their survival while we drive over the zigzag hilly roads passing through several local villages and towns.

Trek from Gongar Khola to Simigaun (2000m/6560ft) -4-5 hrs Trek

Gongor Khola is the starting point of the trek. From here we will follow the trail that enters into the dense forest with several ups and downs. We will trek along the river bank and head for the crossing of a suspension bridge before climbing a steep uphill that leads us to the Sherpa village of Simigaun.

Trek from Simigaun to Dovan - 2,850m/9348ft / 5-6 hrs Trek

Our forward trekking journey from Simigaun passes through several villages inhabited by Sherpa local communities. During our trek, we will have glimpses of Gaurishankar Himal just above the Rolwaling valley. We continue to follow the trail that goes through beautiful pine forest and then make a steep ascent over the rocky ridge. From the top we will make a gradual descent to reach all the way to Rolwaling Khola and continue trekking until we reach Dovan.

Trek from Dovan to Beding - 3,690m/12103ft / 5-6 hrs Trek

After having our breakfast, we will follow the trail that goes along the bank of Rolwaling Khola. We will trek through thick rhododendron and pine filled forest with great views of Gaurishankar Himal. We head towards the crossing of a suspension bridge before ascending up to an area with open fields and the Sherpa village of Beding.

Trek from Beding to Na Village - 4,180m/13710ft - 3-4hrs Trek

Leaving Beding we will trek an easy gradient through fir trees. Today is a rather easy and short trekking day. After a while of trekking, the valley becomes broad and flat as we approach towards Na village. Na is a scattered village that has abundance of tea houses and offers good camping grounds for adventure seeking trekkers.

Rest at Na Village for acclimatization and local hike.

Today we will take a day rest at Na Village for acclimatization and exploration around Na village.
There are several good day hike options that Na has to offer to its visitors. We can either head up the valley to a small kharka and follow the trail to Yalung Peak Base Camp which is five hours return trip. Or, we can climb to the end of Tsho Rolpa lake for the views of Kang Nachago above Na which takes four hours for a return trip.

Trek from Na to Yalung Glacier - 4750m/15580ftn- 5-6 hrs Trek

Leaving Na, our forward trekking is a gradual ascend over the rocky glaciated trail. We will continue to trek using our crampons to walk over the slippery and icy sections of the trek. After few hours of tiring trek we will arrive at a good campsite near Yalung Glacier where we will camp for our overnight stay before heading higher up.

Trek from Yalung Glacier to Ramdung Base Camp - 5150m/16892ft / 5-6 hrs Trek

We will follow the trail that climbs gradually over to Yalung Danda and from there a steep ascent along the rocky glacier will lead us to Ramdung base camp. During our climbing trek we will have magnificent views of Gaurishankar, Melungste, Yalung and several snow topped high peaks across the border of Tibet. We will set up our camp as soon as we reach the base camp and make necessary checks regarding our health conditions and climbing gears for the successful climb to the summit of Ramdung Peak.

Summit Ramdung Peak - 5925m/19722ft/ & back to Yalung Glacier /8-9 hrs Climb

Fully equipped and properly acclimatized we start early with the aim to achieve the summit before noon as the strong winds after midday can create obstacles for climbing the peak summit. Following the footsteps and guidance of our experienced climbing experts we will overcome minor technical sections and head towards the summit of Ramdung Peak. Once at the top we are rewarded with stunning views of Everest, Gaurishankar, Melungste, Yalang and other surrounding high peaks. After spending some quality time at the top we will descend following the same route back to Yalung Glacier for our overnight camping.

Trek from Yalung Glacier to Na Village - 4-5 hrs Trek

After having achieved the summit of Ramdung Peak, we will retrace our footsteps gradually descending over the icy and slippery trail, using crampons we head back all the way to reach the village of Na for the overnight stay.

Trek to Kabuk at Tsho Rolpa Lake : 4,560m/14956ft / 4-5 hrs Trek

We will make a decent climb to a bridge over the Tsho Rolpa outflow. From there, we continue to follow the main trail that ascends an ablation valley to the south. Along the trail we pass through Chhukyima where there are couple of teashops that are run by locals of Na Village. We trek towards the end of the valley and climb a steep uphill for a magnificent view of the lake and surrounding peaks. A gradual decent from there will leads us to Kabuk.

Trek to Drolambu Glacier : 4880m/16006ft / 5-6 hrs Trek

We start early today because our trail leads through the crossing of the glacier which is best before the sun gets stronger. We cross the plateau to the further eastern corner above the glacier before descending a loose earth trail towards the southern edge of Trakarding Glacier. From here the trail climbs up to reach the northern side of the glacier. Once on the north side, we follow the trail that leads to the snout of Drolambu Glacier.

/6-7 hrs Trek”]We make an early start for the crossing of the challenging Tashi Lapcha Pass. Following the trail that goes over the glacier, we will climb a natural ramp that heads for the crossing of the pass. The pass is a rocky ridge often snow covered and icy. We will have magnificent views of surrounding peaks from the top of the pass. We will make a gradual descend from the top to reach Tashi Lapcha Camp.

Trek to Thyangbo Kharka : 4320m/14169ft/ 5-6 hrs Trek

Today we start our trek by following the trail that descends down the rocky slopes to the campsite of Ngole. From there we will continue our downhill journey all the way towards Thyangbo Kharka. Thyanga Kharka has a few tea houses and offers good camping sites to adventure seeking trekkers.

Trek to Namche Bazaar : 3450m/11316ft/5-6 hrs Trek

From Thyangbo Kharka we follow an easy two-hour trail towards Thame. From Thame we walk the trail along Bhote-Khosi River. Descending gently towards Phunki Tenga, we continue on our route by crossing a bridge over Dudh Koshi. Passing through several villages and teahouses along the route finally reaches Namche Bazaar – The Sherpa Capital.

Trek to Lukla : 2,800m/9184ft/5-6 hrs Trek

The last day of our trek leads from Namche Bazaar via Monjo to Lukla. The trek is pleasant, except for few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote- Koshi River crossing it three times. The last uphill climb of 45 minutes will bring us to Lukla for our overnight stay.

Free day in Kathmandu

You would surely like to see as much of Kathmandu as possible. An early start is practical to visit the temples of Kathmandu. Also, walking around the shopping area of Thamel is worth spending quality time at Kathmandu. We will have a final meal together in the evening.

Transfer to International Airport for departure.

Nature Trail airport representative will drop you at the International Airport as per your flight schedule.
Accommodations:
While your stay in Kathmandu before starting the trip you can find standard to deluxe hotels and resorts for your accommodation which you can choose as per your affordability. During the trekking period (apart from few days in camping accommodations) there are several tea house/lodges available. While we are in Ramdung Peak Base Camp and few other places there we need to set up tented camp accommodation. So Nature Trail will provide all tea house accommodation at available places and camping accommodation at the places where tea house/lodges are not available. Accommodation can be Single, Double, Triple or twin sharing basis as per your requirement.
Meals: 
Nature Trail usually provide every adventure package trips with inclusive of all meals – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner including the package trip of this Ramdung Peak Climbing. Basically, we offer BB plan in Kathmandu that’s why one can choose varieties of meals around in town. We will have dinner and breakfast in the same teahouse/camp where we stay overnight and will be en-route lunch way to next destination since we have to leave our accommodation after breakfast to continue the trek. You can enjoy the taste of varieties of cuisines; Nepali food, Tibetan, Continental, Indian, Italian etc by choosing in the menu. During the camping period; our kitchen team will prepare hygienic foods to serve you. There might not be several choices of foods during the camp as in the tea houses and restaurants; you have to understand that our crew have to carry all camping gears and kitchen equipments from available places but we are sure we will provide as much services and facilities as we can do to make your adventure holiday awesome.
Physical Conditions and Experience Required: 
Every Peak Climbing is a technical adventure activity in Nepal which requires previous trekking experience and technical skills about peak climbing gears to have successful summit. While comparing other peaks with Ramdung Peak, this is medium category in terms of peak climbing – neither too hard nor too easy. The trip also contains an adventurous high mountain pass; Tashi Lapcha at 5755m would be amazing.Sometime, walking in high altitudes might attract by high altitude sickness, slow and steady walk would be the perfect solution. We suggest every adventure seekers who are planning to come Nepal for trekking adventure to do daily around an hour physical workout (jogging, hiking, cycling, gym, etc) prior to a couple of weeks. Previous trekking experience and knowledge about peak climbing is highly required for this peak climb.
Best Seasons for Ramdung Peak Climbing:
Peak Climbing in Nepalese mountain is a seasonal. Basically 3 months in autumn – September, October & November and 3 months in spring – March, April & May are the perfect time for this Ramdung Peak Climbing. During the time, weather would be clear, sunny and warm in Himalayas thus we can have great views of mountains. Nevertheless, some adventure-seeking clients who does like crowed environment also can choose December, January and February months for this trip. Monsoon season three months (June, July and August) will be ruined by rains.
