The Sirubari village tour is a totally amazing experience: The untouched Gurung settlement in the hills at 1700m is only a short drive from Pokhara. The climate is ideal at any time during the September to June season with warm days and cool nights. You want to learn more about Nepal’s unique Gurung culture? Then the Sirubari village tour is perfect to meet the locals and learn more about their culture. Especially staying in an unspoiled village atmosphere and living as a family member is a new experience. You will be welcomed into the community and invited to stay in the home of one of the village families. However, the accommodation is simple but comfortable with good bedding and clean toilet facilities.

Besides that, the local food is delicious and you will be eating as one of the family. In addition, each night has an entertainment program provided to you by the local community. This will mainly be in the form of traditional Gurung and Nepali dancing and singing. After watching, you are welcome join in if you like. During your stay you will be able to feel what it is like to live the life of a Nepali villager.

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival, meet and transfer to your hotel

Sightseeing: Bhaktapur, Bajrabarahi and Chapagaon

Good morning in Kathmandu! Today we will explore the ancient city of Bhaktapur for the first half of the day. Back at the hotel we have a little rest and then proceed with sightseeing: In the afternoon we take a tour to the villages of Bajrabarahi and Chapagaon, outside of Kathmandu.

Drive to Pokhara

Today we make our way to beautiful Pokhara. Transfer to hotel and overnight stay.

Sightseeing in Pokhara

Pokhara has many beautiful sights: Our half day sightseeing tour brings us to the Devi’s fall, the Gupteshwor Mahadev cave, the Seti River, the Bindhyabasini and Barahi temples. Especially fun: One hour boating on Phewa lake!

Drive to Sirubari

Today we drive to Sirubari, via Badkhola, Darau. We stop for lunch en route at Syangja Bazar and will arrive in Sirubari village between 4 to 5 pm. Welcome ceremonies, blessing by village lama, snacks and cosy beds are waiting for us.

Explore around Sirubari

To see an amazing sunrise from Thumro, we depart from the village on foot early in the morning. Snacks will be served at Maidan Kharka before sunrise. After enjoying the beautiful spectacle we return to Sirubari and have breakfast. After lunch we are going to explore the village further: We will visit the funeral place and local school. Later, we enjoy dinner with a local family and evening culture program at gompa.

Farewell and departure to Pokhara

We will enjoy breakfast with the family and meet the group at gompa for a farewell ceremony. Then, we depart from Sirubari at 8.30 am for Pokhara. We drive via Karkineta, Seti Doban and Naudanda. We will stop for lunch en route and transfer you to the hotel after arrival.

Back to Kathmandu

Today you make your way back to Kathmandu again. The best way is to take the bus again and enjoying the beautiful scenery en route. Another option is a short flight, however, please consider the bus as it is the more sustainable and environmental friendly option. We transfer you to the hotel after arrival.

Free day in Kathmandu

One more day in Nepal! Today you can do and see whatever you like. We offer visits to Kathmandu’s famous temples such as Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Please let us know if you would like our guidance through Kathmandu.
