Arrive Paro by Druk Air Flight

During this flight, one will experience breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Kanchan Junga and other Himalayan Peaks including sacred Chomolhari and Mt. Jichu Drake I Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by a representative of Kinga Tours & Trek Ltd. then drive to Olathang Hotel through Paro valley is enchanting. Paro – Thimphu

This morning follow the winding road beside the Pa-chu (chu means river or water) down stream to its confluence with the Wangchu then up-hill to Thimphu, the capital. Afternoon lunch at the Hotel. After lunch visit the Memorial Chirten, here the faithful circumambulate the shrine dedicated to the Late King telling their prayer beads as they walk. Overnight in Hotel.

Thimphu – Sightseeing

A full day of sightseeing and shopping in Thimphu. Wander in the town, visit the handicraft emporium. Visit the workshop where all the handicrafts are produced if you like. Afternoon visit Tashichho-Dzong. Overnight at the Hotel.

Thimphu – Tongsa

The journey to Central Bhutan begins today. The drive to Thongsa takes approximately 7-8 hours. packed lunch will be provided at the Hotel. Lunch stop at Chendeje Chorten. Overnight at Tongsa Tourist Lodge.

Tongsa – jakar (Bumthang)

Drive to Jakar takes approximately 21/2hrs. Tales of great teacher Guru Padmasambhava dominates this holy valley. From the view point you can see Jakar Dzong “The castle of White Bird.” Lunch at Tourist Lodge. Afternoon hike upto Lame Gompa, a place built by 1st King for his two nun sisters. Outside of Lame Gonpa, one can see the old style of Bhutanese paper making. Overnight in Bumthang Tourist Lodge.

Bumthang – Nganglhakhang

The trek route takes you around the Chamkhar Chu, a rive known for its richness in trout, lunch stop at Tangbi Lhakhang then you enter to the swan land Ngang Yul with its centre swan temple Nganglhakhang. This part of the valley was at first inhabited by the swans who gave their name Ngang. The Lama Namkha Samdrup having a dreamt a vision of how to build a Gompa shot an arrow and at the spot where the arrow landed Nganglakhang was erected. Cultural programme can be arranged in the evening. Overnight in camp. Alt. 9500ft. Distance – 20 Kms about 5/6 hours.

Nganglhakhang – Ugyenchholing

Climb gradually to Phephela pass Alt. 3353m./11000ft. the highest point on the trek route. The trail you follow until the pass takes you through one of the most beautiful frosted area of this region. Allowing for many stops to enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings, we can also view Ugyenchholing Palace on the way.

Ugyenchholing – Phokpey

Ascending through Bamboo, Hemlock and filly up to the Alpine forest. Overnight in camp. Alt. 11,500ft. Distance – 17 Kms about 5-6 hrs.

Phokpey - Ungaar

Continue upto Phokpeyla alt. 12,300ft. which takes about half an hour. Then continue down hill through the gorge, which is about 10,000ft. down. Overlooking some mountain valleys and the plains. Where towards the camp we meet the pine trees.

Ungaar - Taskila

This trail is wave trail winding up and down enroute Drula village, and Khaine Lhakhang, one of the oldest in existence in mid 7th century A.D built by the 1st king of Tibet, Tshong Tsen Gompo to subdue the demons. Alt.6000ft. Distance-21Kms about 7-8 hrs

Taskila – Lhuntshe

Drive upto Lhuntshi guest house for lunch. After lunch at leisure. Overnight in Guest house or in camp. Alt,6000ft.

Lhuntshi- Menji

Drive down to Kuri Zam and the trek starts gradually up through the paddy fields and villages. Overnight in camp. Distance –16 Kms about 4-5 hours. Alt 6000ft.

Menji – Pemi

Continue uphill through the thick forest overlooking some mountain views. The camp under shelter of the forest altitude 8000ft. approximately. Distance- 20 Kms about 6-7 hours.

Pemi – Taupang

Continue upto Dongla where you can see all the high mountains views. Descending through the thicker green forest till you reach camp site. Alt. 8000ft. Distance –21 Kms about 6-7 hours.

Taupang – Yangtsi

The day is one of the longest trek on this day. Gradually down hill till Yangtsi through the chir-pine and hard wood forest like Oak of sub-tropical Zone. Overnight in camp. Distance 24 Kms about 8-9 hours.

Yangtsi – Tashigang

The drive takes about 2-3 hours, Overnight in camp or in Guest house.

Tashigang – Samdrupjongkhar

The picnic lunch is provided at the breakfast time and after breakfast you drive through the villages them starts, winding up and down,entering through the cliff one of the most exciting and advantages motorable drive. Enroute Deothang Polytechnic college in Bhutan. Now you are in sub- tropical zone. The drive actually takes about 6-7hours. Overnight in Hotel.

Samdrupjongkhar – Gauhati

The drive takes you about 3-4 hours to Gauhati to catch the flight for your onward journey or overnight in Hotel.
